We’ve known Fallout 76 was going to have a beta sometime in October, but now we have a solid date. Alongside a new trailer, Bethesda has stated that the B.E.T.A. or Break-it Early Test Application, (because Bethesda loves their acronyms) will begin on October 23 for Xbox One players, Oct 30 for PC and PS4 players.
Bethesda also stated that they know things will go wrong and that’s just what they want. To maximize player counts at any given time, the beta will only be available at “targeted timeframes” to stress test the servers. What those timeframes are haven’t come to light yet, but the company is looking to test servers anywhere from four to eight hours at a time. Bethesda want players to find bugs and glitches; break the game as much as possible in this beta so the full launch can run as smooth as possible.
It should be noted that the Beta will require Xbox Live gold and PlayStation Plus to play on Xbox One and PS4, respectively. The same goes for when the full game launches this November. Currently, the only way to get in to the beta is by pre-ordering the game, either at retail stores, or through Bethesda’s own web store.
Fallout 76 will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC November 14.
