Pokémon GO might just be getting more Pokémon!
Earlier this morning, Niantic Labs made an announcement that on (or around) Dec 12, we can expect to see or hear some big news. They were scarce with the details, but mentioned watching their social media spaces for "details about the first addition of more Pokémon into Pokémon GO."
More Pokémon? Could this mean Niantic Labs is planning a Gen 2 update? One of the biggest allures of Pokémon GO was that the game included only Gen 1 Pokémon. Adding new Pokémon would certainly bring in new players, and may be jut what Niantic needs to bring their numbers of active players back up near peak levels.
In the same blog post, Niantic announced a collaboration with Sprint to make over 10,500 Sprint locations, as well as Boost Mobile and RadioShack locations (if you can find one) Gyms and PokéStops, and even better, Sprint locations will have dedicated Pokémon GO charging stations! This should definitely help keep Pokémon trainers going longer sessions and make gathering Poké Balls and berries easier.
The Poké territory wars continue, spurred on by Sprint! Good job, Sprint! Now if only Niantic would do something about that speed cap, for those of us not within walking distance of any nearby Sprint store.
