Last week, some promotional posters appeared online, revealing the long-rumored, and highly anticipated, sequel to Destiny. The posters showed glimpses of a possible beta and/or some kind of PlayStation exclusive content, and titled the game as simply Destiny 2. At the time, these were just speculation. Now, Destiny 2 has officially been revealed.
On the game's official Twitter account earlier today, a tweet went up with nothing but the following image:
There was no accompanying text and no further tweets have come from the account, but this officially confirms a Destiny sequel, now officially known as Destiny 2. Upon closer inspection, we can tell that the image shows the Last City on Earth, which seems to have been attacked, if not entirely destroyed. But I may be speculating ;)
What Destiny 2 will entail is unknown as details remain scarce, but we do know that Light level and gear will unfortunately not be making the jump into the new game. Only your physical avatar will be coming along for the ride.
We also know that Destiny 2 is supposedly coming this fall, as according to Activision and recent rumors suggest a September release, with a beta coming ahead of that date.
