Bend Studio's Day's Gone Delayed

The latest game from Bend Studio, open-world zombie survival game Days Gone, has been delayed from February 22, the day everyone was announcing their game would release on back at E3 2018, and has instead been pushed into April.

The change comes to us from the PS Blog, wherein one Asad Qizilbash notifies us that Bend Studio has elected to move Day Gone from its Feb date and will take the extra time to “further polish” the game.

We recently decided to move the release of Days Gone from the crowded February timeframe to April 26, 2019. While the studio is eager to see Days Gone in the hands of fans, Bend Studio will take the opportunity to further polish Days Gone.

It sounds like the game is finished, but the large number of other games releasing in that late February/early March window may have just been too crowded for a game like Days Gone to really shine. Days Gone is an open world survival game where an infection has broken out and destroyed much of society. Sound familiar? That’s because it is pretty close to another Sony exclusive, The Last of Us, as well as other zombie infection games. Days Gone is going to have to do really give players reason to pick it up over other games, and in that crowded Feb date, Bend may not have been too confident in that. Moving into April could prove to be a good move for them, so long as nobody else follows.

Days Gone will now be releasing on April 26, 2019 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
