New Information Revealed for Kingdom Hearts 3

New Information Revealed for Kingdom Hearts 3

D23 is going on right now in beautiful Tokyo, Japan and as expected, there's some new information for Kingdom Hearts 3. A new trailer was shown off in a special viewing at Disneyland which gave us some new details, showed some new characters, and most notably confirmed Monsters Inc. as a new world. Oh boy. Let's get into it.

The video starts off by showing Sora meeting Marluxia. Marluxia, a prominent member of Organization XIII, has been in the series a few times starting from Chain of Memories, but this is his first appearance in the mainline story. (Likely because this is the first mainline entry in the series in over 10 years.) Because of that, Sora, Donald, and Goofy don't actually remember meeting him in Castle Oblivion.

From there we jump to Sora and the gang meeting Mike, Sully, and Boo in the Monsters Inc. Scare Factory. As you might expect in a new world, everyone has new monster forms. Sora has striped fur that seems to change color, it starts blue and grey but during the trailer he turns orange and red. Donald has a single eye, much like Mike, and Goofy's monster version is... well goofy.

We also get a sneak peek at Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled, and a shot of Ariel from The Little Mermaid, although it seems she's a summon this time (thank goodness!). Looks like Sora will have new Keyblade transformation for each different world. We also get another look at the Toy Story world combat and gameplay, as well as more of those Disneyland attractions based attacks (summons?). Dream Eaters from Dream Drop Distance also make an appearance.

There's a lot to digest in this new trailer, so feel free to watch it for yourself in the embed below.

There was also released a new trailer featuring the Theme song, performed as always by Utada Hikaru. This song is called "Don't Think Twice' and can be heard throughout this new trailer, leading up to Riku's appearance, showing him leaving a broken Way to the Dawn Keyblade for his other self.
