Kingdom Hearts 3 has a Release Date
After a desperately long wait, nearly 5 years to the very date, the long-awaited finale to the Kingdom Hearts story, Kingdom Hearts 3, finally has a release date. Kingdom Hearts 3 will release on January 29, 2019.
Kingdom Hearts 3 was initially slated to release sometime in 2018. There was even a press event where members of the media were able to get hands-on with the game where 2018 was still pushed as the potential release target. Now it has been moved ever-so-slightly to Jan 2019. The game will release 4 days ahead in Japan on Jan 25, 2019.
An official statement was released to Twitter from franchise director Tetsuya Nomura.
We’ve announced the release day for KINGDOM HEARTS III ahead of E3 at the KINGDOM HEARTS Orchestra -World Tour-. I’m sorry that we’re asking for a little more time than initially planned. Please look forward to other information, including a few trailers at E3. Thank you - Nomura
This announcement was the kickoff to the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra Tour. Always some surprises there. Well, as far as KH news goes, I suppose this is the best we could've hoped for, and there was no way Square Enix would announce a delay to one of their most highly games of 2018 on the E3 stage. Maybe the 1.5+2.5 HD Remix will come be announced for Xbox instead.
Let's hope we'll all have Kingdom Hearts 3 in our hands (and likely tears in our eyes) on January 29 next year for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
