Onrush, the new arcade racer from developer Codemasters, dropped a trailer today, and it looks to bring back the glory days the glory days of the arcade racers. The new trailer looks very reminiscent of the Motorstorm series, a series that has been dormant since developer Evolution Studios worked on DriveClub and was eventually shuttered in 2016.
The team working on Onrush is largely made up of devs who previously worked on the Motorstorm games, and its easy to see the similarities. Codemasters had this to say in a press release:
"Onrush is a celebration of sensational speed, outright fun and over the top spectacle. Players battle it out on track to power up their Rush meter which enables them to unleash the ultimate manifestation of boost and power as they wreak havoc on their opponents by performing death defying takedowns and stunts. Onrush is not about racing to the finish line. Racing with style and flair is what counts as you perform incredible takedowns and put everything on the line in order to power up your all important Rush bar."
Onrush will launch on June 5 and those who preorder will (can you guess?) get early access to the game's beta ahead of other players when it starts up in May.
