After over a decade online, one of the best racers of the last generation is shutting down its online servers. Burnout Paradise, which launched all the way back in 2008, is finally going offline on August 1. It’ll be a sad day for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Burnout players.
And to be clear, this will only affect those players. Burnout Paradise Remastered, which launched late 2018, will roll on unchanged (pun intended). Still, it is sad to see a game that has been going strong for so long finally throw in the towel. Anyone who still wants to play the original Burnout Paradise can still play all the game’s offline modes, but any trophies or achievements you’ve yet to complete online will be unattainable after August 1, so I suggest you get it done ASAP.
Also, all the DLC content, like Big Surf Island, will be playable even after Aug 1. It’s currently unclear, however, as to whether or not this content will be available to download after Aug 1. Just to be safe, be sure to hit those downloads well in advance so you don’t miss out on anything.
Again, I just want to note that the Burnout Paradise Remastered for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One servers will be unaffected.
