PlayStation Experience Keynote Recap

PlayStation Experience Keynote Recap

I'm only one person, and if E3 taught me anything, it's that I can't do it all. I can't even do half of it by myself. So for PlayStation Experience, I decided I'm going to watch it all, make my own personal opinions about everything and do a massive recap at the end of the day.

So, with that, let's get right into it!

The keynote kicked off with a nice trailer for Uncharted 4's first ever single-player DLC, The Lost Legacy. That trailer can be found below.

Hard of hard to follow up on that, but they did with Shawn Layden coming onstage for the announcement of Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite. The first gameplay for Marvel VS Capcom Infinite can be found at the Capcom Cup later tonight. But that's not all. Layden also introduced Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 exclusively on PlayStation 4.

After that massive unveiling, there were two more trailers: one for WipEout Omega Collection coming in 2017 and another for a new event going on in Destiny,  titled The Dawning, as well as the return of Sparrow Racing League. There was also a new trailer for Call of Duty World League.

Then came a trailer for Resident Evil VII, which I was too chickenshit scared to watch the first time, but I got around to it eventually, and it looks amazingly terrifying! An Ace Combat 7 trailer was up next. Not a bit Ace Combat fan, so I've not much to say about this one.

Yoshida-san came back to tell us about the Capcom Cup and a new gameplay trailer for Street Fighter V's newest fighter, Akuma!

Knack 2 announcement trailer followed this one quickly. Not really sure what to say about this...

This next one was one of my favorite trailers, Crash bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy! I'm so hyped for remastered Crash Bandicoot!

Next Shuhei Yoshida came onstage to show us a new trailer for The Last Guardian, finally coming next week! But he also showed off PaRappa the Rapper 20th Anniversary Remastered trailer, with a demo available tonight! Also coming are LocoRoco and Patapon!

Yoshida-san also introduced Gravity Rush 2 Raven DLC and Gran Turismo Sport!

Ni No Kuni showed off an amazing trailer next, followed by Gio Corsi taking the stage to give us a look at Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza 6 Song of Life. Gio Corsi also showed off Danganonpa V3: Killing Harmony, which almost broke my brain with excitement!

NieR Automata gave us a glimpse at gameplay, which looks beautiful. Dreadnought showed off a bit but I'm not sure what the game overall is. It didn't give me a sense of what the game is.

Pyre was up next and looked amazing, as expected of Supergiant Games. Supergiant has been knocking em out of the park since their first game, Bastion, and I personally loved their second, Transistor. I can't wait for Pyre, and with this being their first foray into multiplayer, I'm incredibly optimistic!

Vane showed a bit of ... something? There really wasn't much, this may have been the vaguest trailer all day.

Absolver was immediately recognizable with that breathtaking visual style and stylistic combat, I'm more and more hyped every time I see that game.

What Remains of Edith Finch looks and sounds like a game that tells in interestingly strange story, and it seems there's some required reading involved. I know what I'll be playing soon...

Much like Supergiant, Housemarque is another team with major expectations. And it seems Nex Machina -Death Machine does not disappoint! This game looks beautiful, fast, fluid, frenetic. Just what I'd expect from a Housemarque game.

From the development team behind No More Heroes, Let it Die showed off a freaky weird new trailer and announced it's free for PS players in US and EU today.

All also available Today: Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3, Mother Russia Bleeds, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, and Lara Croft GO.

Finally, Gio Corsi ended with Windjammers...? What in hell is this?

Asad Qizilbash came onstage to tell us about PlayStation VR, and specifically, about Starblood Arena in PSVR. Looks tight, but I still have no VR in my home, so I can't say too much.

Mr. Qizilbash showed off Team Ninja's newest masterpiece Nioh in a stunning new trailer that just looks jaw droppingly gorgeous. Honestly, good gods I can't wait for this game to be in my hands!

Next up was MLB The Show 17, showcasing its beautiful new gameplay trailer with a surprise: Retro Mode! Go back to the 90s for a spell, with Retro Mode! Looks like fun (not a baseball guy).

I think we're drawing to a close, but before we get there, there's a couple more trailers to have us all gaping in awe. What is it? Another Horizon Zero Dawn Trailer? Yes, but as usual, It's one well worth watching over and over, as it shows off a bit of the narrative.

We're in the final stretch now, and how do they close out the showcase? By finishing it with a reveal trailer for Last of Us Part II. Well. Sorry Edith Finch, I got to go play Last of Us Remastered. Right now.

Man, I swear this didn't take me over a day to finish, I had to step away from my work to be with my family for considerably longer than any of us expected. It is what it is, family comes first. That doesn't mean I'm just going to scrap this though, I'm finishing it!

Well, this is a massive list of amazing trailers, so expect to have your brain's excitement center blown up! There's plenty more to come throughout the weekend, so keep your eyes peeled, watch PlayStation all weekend, and keep checking back to your friends at the Spider Webs!
