PlayStation E3 Press Conference Recap
Sony's PlayStation E3 press conference is finished and that means it's time to recap the show! Let's take a look at what was unveiled!
First up was a The Last of Us Part 2 trailer, featuring a much older Ellie. The trailer initially looks like a cinematic until it switches to gameplay while still running in-engine. Check out that full gameplay reveal below.
After that lengthy demo, there was a short intermission for those in the audience to move locations, and the show was thrown to Sid Shuman and Ryan Clements at another location. Here was shown a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 trailer showing 4 classic Black Ops maps coming to BO4 and BO3. Sid Shuman also announced Black Ops 3 would be coming to PlayStation Plus that very night.
Shuman also introduced a montage video of the Countdown to E3 trailers announced throughout the last few days.
A new, slightly haunting trailer for the new Destiny 2 expansion Destiny 2 Forsaken also dropped during this intermission. SPOILERS for Destiny 2 fans, this one might hit you in the feels... Find out what Forsaken means September 4.
After that, the show resumed with a long gameplay demo of Ghost of Tsushima, showing off the (assumed) protagonist, Jin, and a companion, Masako.
Next up was the first new announced game fo the night from Remedy, Northlight, and 505 Games, Control.
The next game got quite some buzz as a trailer for the remake many have been waiting on has arrived: Resident Evil 2! The trailer ended with a release date of January 25, 2019.
The next new game to be announced is another game by famed creator Justin Roiland, called Trover Saves the Universe. I'm sure it will be just as silly as you can imagine it to be.
Yet another Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer was shown off, but this was a completely different one, with lots of new info and story details for those who want to analyze it (I volunteer as tribute). Most obvious is the return to the Pirates of the Caribbean world.
This was followed up by Death Stranding showing ... something. Again, I have no idea what I am looking at. There was even gameplay, real in-engine gameplay, and I still have no clue what this game is. Check out the trailer and see if you have any luck deciohering it.
Another announce trailer for a surprise game, Nioh 2! Not much more to say than Get hyped!
The conference itself closed out with a demo of the upcoming (and personal Uber-hype) Marvel's Spider-Man!
The conference then went back over to Shuman and Clements where the last new game announcement of the night was made: a new FromSoftware game built for PSVR called Déraciné.
