Final Fantasy XV Uncovered Reveals
And lo, it is done! Final Fantasy XV Uncovered, hosted by Kinda Funny's own "GameOverGreggy" Greg Miller and Tim Gettys, both of whom did a marvelous job, is over! and What a Fantastic (pardon the pun) show it was! I'm so excited my fingers are hardly listening to my commands as I type this, but we'll soldier on anyway!
I'm not going to run down the full list of reveals, but I will hit on the most prominent of them all:
- Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV, a new anime series telling the backstory of Noctis and his Band of Bros.
- Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV a feature length full CGI movie telling the story of King Regis and his "Glaives".
- Justice Monsters Five: Final Fantasy XV's newest entry into the beloved stable of Final Fantasy mini-games. As of tonight, this is also available on iOS, Android, and Windows 10.
- Final Fantasy XV Platinum Demo: a completely new demo, not another vertical slice of gameplay from XV proper, that takes place from a young Noctis' perspective. An untold bit of the story you won't get in-game, a new taste of the combat, and a furry companion to travel with in the form of Carbuncle whom fans of Final Fantasy ought to recognize. Have a look at the full trailer here.
And finally what we've all been waiting 10 years for:
Yes! A release date for the game we've waited a decade for and we have it! Its coming!
There was also box art and shots of the Deluxe and Ultimate Collector's edition (one of which I will surely be buying) and they look amazing, as well as come with Kingsglaive and Brotherhood, steelbooks, an artbook, a massive soundtrack, and much, much more!
The entire event can be found here, skip to about 1:2:30 to skip over any extras and get right to the good stuff.
