NPD Group has released physical games sales numbers for March 2016. Unsurprisingly, The Division rose to number one, but very surprisingly, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 dropped fell from two down to nine. Street Fighter V fell off entirely from its spot at seven. I'm going to run down the entire top 10 first before I get into any specifics about any game.
So, here's the top 10 physical game sales from March 2016 taken from Gamespot.com:
- The Division (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
- Far Cry Primal (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD (Wii U)
- Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
- EA Sports UFC 2 (PS4, Xbox One)
- MLB The Show 16 (PS4, PS3)
- Pokken Tournament (Wii U)
- NBA 2K16 (PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
- Minecraft (Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One, PS3)
Like I said, The Division at the top isn't surprising, it has become Ubisoft's number one new IP, taking the record for Ubisosft's fastest selling game in its first 24 hours, beating Watch Dogs, which sold 4 million in its first week.
Now, let me know if I'm wrong, but I think that means The Division sold more in its first 24 hours than Watch Dogs in its first week? Well done, Ubisoft. But that's not all the records The Division has broken. The Division has also taken record for fastest selling new IP, ever. Period. The Division has dethroned Destiny.

On a somewhat related note, PS4 had made its way back to the top of the NPD hardware sales chart, noted here by Gamespot.com.
