Its finally coming!
Right then. On the Official PlayStation Blog, ATLUS PR Manager John Hardin announced yesterday the official release date for Persona 5. Persona 5 will be taking our hearts on Feb. 14, 2017. Yes, Valentine's Day. So don't expect much romanticism next year.
In spectacular Atlus fashion, they've also annunced a collector's edition worthy of the biggest title is Atlus history. Exclusive to the PlayStation 4 version, The Persona 5 "Take Your Heart" Edition will come in a collector's box and will include the following:
- Soundtrack CD: A selection of music from Persona 5 by legendary series composer, Shoji Meguro, in a CD sleeve featuring special P5 artwork.
- 4” Morgana plush: Morgana the Phantom Thieves’ cat is not just the mascot of the Phantom Thieves, but also a member – and also not just a cat! The premium edition includes an exclusive 4” plush of Morgana.
- 64-page hardcover art book: This art book is full of concept sketches, character art, and more by character designer Shigenori Soejima.
- SteelBook: As strong as a vault, the game disc for the PS4 will come specially packaged in a SteelBook collectible case, emblazoned with Persona 5 designs.
- School bag: Designed after the traditional school bags in Japan, the exclusive replica bag comes complete with the Shujin Academy crest.
The "Take Your Heart" Edition will be available for $89.99, but Atlus will also be releasing a special steelbook edition for those interested in just the game. Also exclusive to the PS4, Persona 5 special Steelbook Launch Edition will be available for $59.99 and will feature a collectible steelbook case identical to that in the "Take Your Heart" Edition. This one will be for per-orders and will run very limited quantities.
Persona 5 is almost here, everyone! Hardin also confirmed that, yes the game is still coming to PlayStation 3 and that it will be at E3 next week (holy shite, next week?!).
