After finally getting a final release date, it seems fans will have to wait just a bit longer for Final Fantasy XV. Director Hajime Tabata apologizes to fans in a video Square Enix released early this morning.
In the video, he implies that the game could have met it's release date, but that they wanted the game to work straight out of the box, instead of having a massive day-one patch.
"From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this," said Tabata. "As the director and lead for this project, I wis to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want Final Fantasy XV to achieve a level of perfection our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding."
The digital version of the animated movie Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will still hit August 30, with the physical to be out a month later.
