Electronic Arts announced today that the upcoming World War 1 shooter Battlefield 1 beta will be open on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC starting August 31, though the company did not announce when the beta will end. Players who sign up for "Battlefield Insider" and choose their platform of choice before Aug 21 will be eligible for beta access.
The Battlefield 1 open beta will offer only 1 playable map, Sinai Desert, with two of Battlefield's most iconic modes: Rush and Conquest. The beta will allow up to 64-players and three new classes: Sentry, Flame Trooper, and Tank Hunter. There will also be war horses and a "Behemoth vehicle" known as the Armored Train.
Battlefield 1’s open beta will offer up to 64-player action on one map, Sinai Desert, in two modes that will be very familiar to longtime Battlefield fans: Conquest and Rush. Three new classes will be playable in the beta — Sentry, Flame Trooper and Tank Hunter — along with war horses and a "behemoth" vehicle known as the Armored Train.
DICE also released a new gameplay trailer from Gamescom, and its pretty damn good. The trailer shows off some very impressive gameplay from heavy gunners to horseback riders, aerial combat to the armored train, and even a tease for what might be a bit of the campaign near the end. DICE certainly know how to make a trailer that gets you hyped.
Battlefield 1 hit store shelves Oct 21 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
