Darksiders 3 Officially Announced
After some leaks and rumors that somehow managed to escape my ears, likely due to exams and other college related distractions, Darksiders 3 has finally been officially announced. THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games announced today the Darksiders 3 is in development and expected to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2018.
Darksiders 3, following the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse theme, puts players in the high-heeled boots of Fury, War's electro-whip wielding sister as she sets out on a quest of her own. Fury's quest takes place around the same time Death set out to free his brother, though Fury seeks to destroy physical manifestations of the Seven Deadly Sins. Below is a CG trailer that accompanied the announcement.
Gunfire Games, the new studio working on DarkSiders, is made up of multiple ex-Vigil Games employees who worked on the original Darksiders 1 and 2, so fans of Darksiders can rest assured this wasn't passed off to a new dev team who know nothing of the series.
Darksiders 3 is actually already open to pre-order at Amazon, who leaked the game's existence first, and over at the digital storefronts, Darksiders: Fury's Collection is available for purchase. Full title, Darksiders: Fury's Collection - War and Death is a bundle of Darksiders Warmastered and Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Editions for the temporary price of $19.99, which is a great price for these two amazing games. It'll be bumped back to $39.99 after 05/10/2017.
If you have never experienced Darksiders, or if you're like me and it's just been a few years (Darksiders 2 originally released almost 5 years ago), The Warmastered and Deathinitive Editions are great ways to get caught up. And there's plenty of time til 2018, even with all the amazing games that have released so far this year.
