Nintendo and Sony bringing new Dragon Quest systems to Japan, and they're gorgeous
In a turn of events no less than shocking, Sony and Nintendo have partnered to bring Dragon Quest branded New Nintendo 2DS XL and Sony PlayStation 4 to Japanese markets.
The New Nintendo 2DS XL, called the Hagure Metal Edition, is slick in its black-on-silver design, with a metal slime hanging out on the top of the clamshell. The system will launch alongside the game on July 29th for 22,480 yen, plus tax. It will also include a custom theme and a copy of the game. Pictures below for your perusal.
Of course, Sony had to keep up and announced the Dragon Quest Loto Edition, also releasing July 29, day one with Dragon Quest XI. Pre-orders have already begun, so importers, get on it! It'll cast you 39,980 yen, plus taxes, plus whatever import cost on top of that (Assumedly, I don't import).
The console itself is the 1TB Slim model, and comes with a copy of the game, and a metal slim which attaches to one of the USB ports. It also has a custom theme and special box, which I initially took for a lunch box because of the way it's orientated in these photos.
Sony also released a cute new trailer for DQ XI, which can be viewed below with some pictures of the system (and its lunchbox).
