Devil May Cry Event in Monster Hunter: World Begins

Devil May Cry Event in Monster Hunter: World Begins

Capcom has certainly been on a roll lately with Monster Hunter: World. Hot off the heels of their successful Spring Blossom Festival, which revived all previous event quests, Capcom also unleashed a new a monster to hunt: the Kulve Taroth. A true giant among giants, the Kulve Taroth is so large that to hunt it takes 16 players. Following that, the newest crossover event goes live today, bringing the demon slayer himself Dante, of Devil May Cry fame, into Monster Hunter: World.

To take part in the action, players need select a mission called Code: Red, an 8 star, Hunter Rank 14 type quest, so you'll need to be decently far in the story, though by now, I expect most players are well past that. This is an arena quest pitting players against an Anjanath, Odogaron, Rathalos, and Teostra in that order. Be prepared, as you'll only have 50 minutes to take down all 4 of your targets. Stock up on supplies, get decked out in fire resistant gear, fight back with ice weapons, and keep your wits about you. Also, consider capturing the monsters instead; might save time.

For your efforts, players will be rewarded with Red Orbs, materials which, along with various other materials from the 4 monsters, can be used to craft Dante's high-rank Devil Hunter outfit. These orbs can also be used to forge a new charge blade modeled after Dante's special weapon Alastor.

The Devil May Cry event will run from today, April 27 until May 3, though as Capcom has demonstrated, they may likely revive the quest sometime in the future.

Monster Hunter: World is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC release coming sometime in the (near) future.
