Japanese Video Games Sales Figures Show Out

March has rolled out and April is rolling in, and with it all the lovely things of Spring: tulips, daffodils, bumblebees, pollen, etc. Today, that means new sales figures are available. From Famitsu, there's some surprising and not-so-surprising listings. Without further ado, let's get started.

The top selling video games software are, in order:

  1. Monster Hunter Double Cross- 1,270,332 copies sold
  2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - 307,621 copies sold
  3. Horizon Zero Dawn - 167,756 copies sold
  4. Ghost Recon Wild Lands - 139,873 copies sold
  5. 1-2-Switch - 138,790 copies sold

Hmm. Well, that's sure to stir up some controversy. Let's see how much more we can cause.

Top selling hardware sales, in order:

  1. Nintendo Switch
  2. PlayStation 4
  3. Nintendo 3DS

Top Video Game companies, in order

  1. Capcom
  2. Nintendo
  3. Square Enix

So. The Switch got top spot. I suppose it shouldn't be terribly surprising, it was launch month, that's kind of how things go. Good on Nintendo, even despite the "shortages" that Nintendo promised wouldn't happen.
