Mighty No 9 Goes Gold

Mighty No. 9 has gotten another release date. Creator Keiji Inafune has said Mighty No. 9 will release on June 21 in North America and Asia, June 24 everywhere else.

Mighty No. 9 is a game that has been plagued, to put it mildly, with delays since its kickstarter campaign nearly three years ago. The kickstarter raised nearly $4 million fromover  67,000 backers.

Mighty No. 9 has "gone gold" according to Inafune, and thus "the release date we are announcing is set in stone and there will be no further delays for the game."

Inafune also stated that the game will be coming to PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS "at a later point." I'll believe that when I see it, but I want it nonetheless. More Vita games! Mighty No. 9 was initially to be on Windows PC, with added stretch goals for Mac, Linux, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but eventually extended to add PlayStation 4, Xbox One and now PS Vita and 3DS.

General consensus around the game-o-sphere is "I'll believe it when I see it" and its not hard to see why. Multiple delays have caused many gamers to lose faith in developer Inafune and studio Comcept, established after Inafune left Capcom, but perhaps there is still hope? We'll all find out, hopefully, in June.
