Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII not coming until at Least 2018
Square Enix confirmed today, in a move surprosing absolutrly nobody, that Kingdom Hearts II and Final Fantasy VII Remake will not be hitting store shelves until at least March 2018.
Square Enix, in usual Square Enix fashion, released an image today showing their bigger releases for fiscal years 2017 and 2018. The left side shows which games released during fiscal year 2017, which runs from March 2016 to March 2017, meaning fiscal year 2018 just started.
The images down the middle show game releasing in 2017, while the far right show games past March 2018. What this means is that Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts III, as well as an unannounced Marvel IP, won't be releasing until after March 2018.
Did this really surprise anyone? At this point, I've almost lost faith in the existence of Kingdom Hearts III. Many people had their hopes renewed when KH3 was officially confirmed at E3 2013, with all new features, combat, and many new Disney locales. Even so, little more than a few videos and screen have surfaced since then. Just enough to tease us along...
Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced at E3 2015, but even then it was easy to guess we wouldn't be seeing that game for one years. My guess: 2020.
Was anyone really surprised by this? I don't think so, but let me know in the comments or hit me up on Twitter @OmegaSpider227.
